Scholarship Programs

April 1, 2025 to June 1, 2025.
The Foundation anticipates selecting successful applicants by July 31, 2025. For the 2025-2026 academic year, Huys Foundation will be awarding scholarships in five categories. The eligibility criteria apply to all scholarship categories.

Awarded to deserving scholars studying full-time in an academic program which is considered a top degree program globally in that specific academic field, driven to address a challenge faced by Armenia, the Armenian nation, or Humanity.
- Awarded amount: No less than $2,000
Awarded to a deserving scholar studying full-time in an academic program focused on Armenian language, history, culture, and related subjects. Recipients are expected to remain actively engaged in academia and education as a whole — conducting research, publishing scholarly papers, organizing seminars, and contributing to the broader discourse on Armenian studies. Beyond academia, successful scholars in this category will also serve as vital connectors within the Armenian community. Through public lectures, cultural initiatives, and mentorship, they will play a key role in strengthening ties within Armenian communities worldwide, fostering a deeper connection between scholarship and cultural identity. By bridging academia and community life, they will ensure that Armenian culture is not only studied but also lived and experienced by future generations.
- Awarded amount: No less than $2,000
Awarded to at least two deserving scholars studying full-time in an academic program at educational institutions in Armenia, with demonstrated accomplishments in their area of interest, such as involvement in research or practical industry projects, allowing the scholar to participate in projects of practical significance promptly after graduation.
- Awarded amount: Up to $1,000
Awarded to scholars studying full-time in an academic program in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related fields, with potential to contribute to the strengthening of the security needs and economic resilience of the Republic of Armenia.
- Awarded amount: Up to $10,000
Awarded to a deserving scholar with a demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership and selfless service to one’s community.
- Awarded amount: No less than $2,000
Applications received for the John Aroutiounian Scholarship for Service to Humanity shall automatically be considered for the general Huys Scholarship.
All applications received for STEM fields shall be considered for the STEM Scholarship only, except for applications for study in an educational institution in Armenia, which shall be considered separately for the Huys Scholarship in Armenia.
A Huys Scholarship award does not guarantee being awarded a Huys Scholarship for the remaining academic years of the Huys Scholar’s degree program.
Decisions on all aspects of the Huys Scholarship, including eligibility, academic degree program ranking, and future added value assessment, shall be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Foundation, appointed by the Board. The selection process may involve personal interviews. Each applicant may submit only one application for one academic degree program that the applicant has been admitted to. The Scholarship Committee’s decisions, as approved by the Board, are final and not subject to appeal.
